Apply for a Habitat for Humanity Home in Coffee County
Habitat for Humanity of Coffee County is committed to helping hardworking individuals and families in Enterprise and surrounding areas achieve the dream of homeownership. If you are living in unsafe, overcrowded, or unaffordable housing and do not qualify for a traditional home loan, you may be eligible to apply for a Habitat home.
Since 1999, we’ve partnered with local families to build safe, decent, and energy-efficient homes — all made possible by community volunteers and donors.
Who Can Apply?
We encourage applications from individuals and families who:
- Have a genuine need for safe, affordable housing
- Are willing to partner with us by completing “sweat equity” volunteer hours
- Have the ability to repay an affordable, no-interest mortgage
Habitat homeowners help build their homes alongside volunteers and participate in financial education programs to prepare for successful homeownership. We do not give away homes — we provide a hand-up, not a handout.
How the Process Works
- Check your eligibility – Make sure you meet the basic qualifications listed above.
- Complete an application – Download the application form or contact us to request one by mail.
- Submit your paperwork – Applications must include proof of income, residency, and other required documents.
- Attend an interview – Our family selection committee will meet with qualified applicants.
- Wait for approval – If selected, you’ll begin your partnership journey toward homeownership.
Please note: Because we are fully volunteer-driven and funded by donations, we are currently able to build only two to three homes per year. There is no guaranteed timeline for home completion.
